1. Level of qualification
Ability to solve complex specialized problems and practical tasks in a given professional activity field either while studies; this supposes respective scientific field's several theories' and methods' application under complex ambiguous conditions.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE CONTENTS AND OUTCOMES GAINED
1. Mode of study Full-time/Extramural 
2. Programme requirements 
Learner must satisfy the programme requirements in the Programme Specification, which includes:
- Theoretical trainings (210 ECTS credits) of subjects in form of audition classes (lecture, seminar, practical and laboratory classes) and independent work;
- Execution of 5 course works and projects (7.5 ECTS credits);
- Passing the pre-diploma practices (6 ECTS credits);
- The final state attestation of bachelor in the form of defense of bachelor's diploma project (thesis) (15 ECTS credits).
Credits are assigned to the student when he/she successfully (see Grading scheme in 4.4) passes written (or oral) tests and examinations in subjects, defends course papers, reports results of his/her practical training, passes final examinations.
The competences acquired:
Knowledge and understanding:
- Basic concepts and methods of mathematical analysis, linear algebra, operational calculus and integral transformations, probability theory and mathematical
statistics, numerical methods in mathematics;
- Basic knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry, biology, geology, hydrology, ecology. Main sections of biology, meteorology, geomorphology, informatics,
systematics, population ecology;
- Deterministic and probabilistic mathematical models of the simplest ecological systems and processes in nature. Methods of Information Theory. Methods and tools
of measurement;
- Methods of analysis and synthesis of automatic control systems. Methods for creating the mathematical models of ecological systems. Advanced computer
technology;
- Main technical automation tools of technological processes, environment state assessment. Principles of formation and functioning of ecological systems Methods
of environmental information processing and assessment of natural objects.
Application of knowledge and understanding (Applying knowledge and understanding):
- Processing of experimental data. The ability to use applications and specialized computer integrated environment to the natural environment state estimation;
- Skills in collection and analysis of data on the environment. The ability to establish observation of changes in individual components of ecosystems to assess their
condition, calibrate and determine the metrological characteristics of certain measuring devices and measuring systems;
- The ability to organize the monitoring observation of the individual components of natural ecosystems.
Making judgments:
- The competence of Bachelor belongs the participation in the collection and evaluation of data on the state of individual factors of natural ecosystems, the use of
computer technology to analyze their condition. Participation in research on improving studying methods of the environment.

2. Programme requirements
Learner must satisfy the programme requirements in the Programme Specification, which includes:
- Theoretical studies (75,5 ECTS credits) of courses in the form of classes (lectures, seminars, workshops) and individual work. Block of normative disciplines that provides training of Master in Ecology and Environmental Protection - 37,5 ECTS credits. Block of selective courses 25,5 ECTS credits;
- Fulfillment of the course works on special training disciplines (1,5 credit ECTS);
- Industrial practice (4,5 ЕСТS credits), scientific-research and teaching practice (internship) - (3,0 ECTS credits), pre-diploma practice (10,5 ECTS credits);
- Final state certification in the form of Master's thesis writing (9 ECTS credits)
Credits are assigned to the student when he/she successfully (see Grading scheme in 4.4) passes written (or oral) tests and examinations in subjects, defends course papers, reports results of his/her practical training, passes final examinations."
The competences acquired:
Knowledge and understanding:
- basic knowledge of fundamental natural sciences, mathematics and informational technologies to the extent necessary for development of general professional disciplines, environmental and natural disciplines and their methods use in chosen profession;
- to organize environmental and phytocenotic, urban environmental, hydrologic, ecosystem research and to estimate level of anthropogenic pollution of atmosphere, hydrosphere, biocenoses by industrial enterprises;
- to evaluate natural resources and search for ecological and economic mechanisms to achieve the principles of sustainable nature management (development and implementation of highly efficient modern methods and equipment for environmental protection);
- to understand the legal norms of national and international legislation on environmental protection;
- to conduct environmental audits and environmental assessment;
- to be able to use modern computing machinery for the ecosystem analysis and mathematical modeling.
Application of knowledge and understanding (Applying knowledge and understanding):
- the ability to use professional and specialized knowledge and skills in conducting autoecological, population, ecosystem studies phenomena and processes;
- the ability to use knowledge and practical skills in conducting environmental studies of ecosystems of different levels.

- the ability to use professional and specialized knowledge and skills to solve practical problems in the field of ecology, technical ecology, hydrology, forest ecology, ecological expertise;
- the ability to apply skills of modeling, forecasting of natural and nature-technical systems state, informing the public, formation of environmental ideology;
- the ability to determine the performance efficiency of ecological and economic systems; the effectiveness of nature management considering the time factor."
